Welcome to 'About Our Program'

Our Program of activities and experiences is designed to be both fun and educational and fully supports the implementation of the Early Years Learning Framework. 

It also includes celebrations of milestones and special occasions such as Birthdays, Easter, Christmas, Mother's Day and St Patrick's Day.  Please find following a list of some of our activities, a short description, the development and education elements and an example of an activity or experience.

'Dramatikids' - Fun Drama and Role Play Activities and Games
Promotes imitative role play, make-believe play and socio-dramatic play, social development, fine and gross motor skills and language skills.
Eg. Learning a Nursery Rhyme, talking about the story and role playing the story.

'Art in the Park' - Art/Craft/Drawing/Painting/Creating in the Park
Promotes fine motor skills, hand eye coordination, social development, creativity, imagination and awareness of textures/senses, awareness of shapes/colours/colour moods.
Eg. Collecting nature to use as various 'paintbrushes' in art activies and with Playdoh to make nature pizza.

'Baby Bootcamp' - Fun Outside Play and Movement Activities
Promotes balance and coordination skills, gross motor skills, ball skills, hand/eye coordination, spacial awareness, thinking skills, social development and sharing.
Eg. Create and follow an Obstacle course using tunnels/witches hats/hoops.

'Little Scientist' - Simple Fun Experiments Learning about Science Concepts
Promotes experience in cause and effect and basic scientific principles, social skills/sharing, fine motor skills, hand/eye coordination, texture/senses awareness, problem solving, shape/size/measurement concepts, pattern development/sequencing and beginning of design awareness, independence and beginning a foundation in math (measurements & weights).
Eg. Creating Playdough from basic ingredients then making shapes.

'Baby Band' - Fun Music and Movement Activities
Promotes awareness of rhythm,  interactive play, imaginative role play, make-believe play and socio-dramatic play, language skills, listening skills, fine and gross motor skills, hand eye co-ordination, awareness of using our voices, props, our body to make music, discovering cause and effect, distinguishing sounds such as volume, tempo and tone and spatial aware.
Eg. Free play and rhythm games with various musical instruments.

'MCKids' - Age Appropriate and Fun Multicultural Activities
Promotes awareness, recognition and respect of other cultures such as food, dress, language, differences etc.
Eg. Making food from other countries with playdough eg. pizza, croissants.

'Story Time' - Quiet Time, Reading and Story Telling
Promotes interaction between carer and child, fine motor skills, hand eye co-ordination, awareness and learning vocabulary and understanding letters, looking at pictures, learning to count, recognising colours/shapes, social skills, emotional development and anticipating events as story is read.
Eg. Reading a story together and talking about the pictures on each page.

'My Little House' - Free Play, Role Play/Scene Play, Self Help Skills
Promotes independence, responsibility, sole play and interactive play, self help skills, following directions, role play, manners, social skills, taking turns, learning to be a good friend, feelings of success for completing a task.
Eg. Taking shoes/hat off, retrieving their own drink bottles, sitting nicely at morning tea/lunch time and putting away toys they have played with.

'Nature walks' - Nature Walk, Discussions and Collecting Nature
(Promotes awareness of surroundings, texture/senses, communication skills)
Eg. Collecting nature and talking about its shape/colour/feel and feeding the ducks at the Lake.

'Pre Prep' - Craft/Play/Outdoor/Independence Activities to Prepare for Prep

(Promotes and develops a positive approach to learning, independence and confidence, thinking and problem solving skills, language skills, social skills, early literacy and numeracy, physical coordination skills including gross and fine motor skills).

Eg. The children experience different types of play eg. Socio-Dramatic (setting up and running a flower shop),Fantasy (creating props for space adventures), Exploratory (using blocks to investigate shape/size etc), Manipulative (puzzles, making necklaces/constructions), Physical (hopping, obstacle courses) and Games (board and card games) as well as Art/Craft/Writing, Music, Multicultural, Science, Reading and Outside Play Experiences and Activities.
